The biggest names at Summit

“When you hold a pressed flower against the light and see the perfectly formed detail you realise how wonderful nature is”, since writing those words many years ago they have remained the driving force for my work, I try to show the normally unseen skeletal structure of the plants own design only revealed after pressing them under a heavy pile of books has made them translucent and photographed with light from behind. My background in textile design allows me to appreciate the intricate designs found naturally in wild flowers.
I use the images to make signed prints up to A2 size and handmade gift cards with hand-written Latin name of the plant and habitat. The full range can be seen at my small shop and stall every Saturday at Chelsea Galleries, 67 Portobello Road, London where I speak with visitors from around the world about my work. I have been featured twice in House and Garden Magazine and Gardens Illustrated.
I hope 'Save me I'm Wild' images will motivate concern for the increasing loss of wild plant habitats to deforestation, urbanisation and climate change worldwide.
