Dr Arokia Antonysamy is an award-winning psychiatrist, researcher, and visionary leader in mental health, widely recognised for her patient-centered innovations and transformative impact on mental health systems. She is the co-founder of MindKonnect, a digital mental health platform designed to deliver early assessments and interventions, empowering patients to take control of their care. She is the recipient of the Innovator Award for developing the MaZon tool to deliver care closer to home and the creator of the Psychiatric Adult Risk Assessment (PARA) tool, the first national framework to address social media-related risks while highlighting patient strengths, promoting safer and more compassionate care.
Her innovative approaches to reducing violence and aggression in psychiatric inpatient units were showcased in the BBC documentary “Keeping Britain Alive”, illustrating her commitment to humane, cost-efficient, and effective mental health care.
